SACRAMENTO – California State Treasurer John Chiang released the following statement this afternoon:

“Jerry Brown will be fondly remembered for not just solving an inherited $27 billion budget shortfall but building a robust rainy day fund that will serve as a shock absorber during the next economic downturn. While the governor’s work was guided by his wily experience, keen mastery of the art of the possible, and devotion to fiscal discipline, the execution was overseen by Michael Cohen, his top budget advisor. California owes a debt or, better said, a great measure of gratitude to Michael for his dedicated and exemplary service to the Golden State. I wish him success and happiness as he moves to the next chapter of his career.”
