This two-day seminar builds from the fundamentals of public funds investing to cover more advanced concepts underlying sound public portfolio decision-making. The program will focus on strategic portfolio management theory and practice and provide interactive simulations and case studies that illustrate the application of the concepts and best practices covered over the course of the program.

CMTA has reserved a limited number of rooms at a discounted rate for attendees of the seminar. Rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. Prices start at $166 per night. Certificate and Continuing Education Credits

  • Certificate of Attendance: CDIAC will issue a Certificate of Attendance for each day of the program to those who sign in at the registration desk. Certificates will be issued within 2 weeks after the program. Participants can submit their Certificate of Attendance to their governing entity to request credits. CDIAC’s education programs are accepted by many governing entities as certifiable.
  • Certified California Municipal Treasurer (CCMT) Designation: Attendees can submit their Certificate of Attendance to the California Municipal Treasurers Association (CMTA) to earn credits towards the CDIAC training requirement of the CCMT designation from CMTA.
  • Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Credits: This course is eligible for up to 14 CPE credits. For detailed information, please refer to the agenda
  • County Treasurers/Tax Collectors: Under California Government Code Section 27000.8, CDIAC’s educational programs are a source for California county treasurers, tax collectors, or treasurer/tax collectors to obtain continuing education credits.
  • Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) Credits: This event is not approved for MCLE credits.
  • SB 827: California Government Code Section 53238 as established by SB 827 requires local agency officials to take two hours of fiscal and financial training every two years. CDIAC's educational programs are a source for satisfying these requirements.
