STE Approved Applicant Information - Next Steps
The California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA) has established a summary of the steps required for an approved applicant to utilize CAEATFA’s approval of a sales and use tax exclusion.
First, an applicant must enter into a Regulatory Agreement with CAEATFA within 30 days of approval. Second, an applicant must comply with semi‑annual and annual reporting requirements. Semi‑annual reports are due every January 31st and July 31st throughout the purchasing term of the Regulatory Agreement, and annual reports are due every July 31st for the full term of the Regulatory Agreement.

Please note that Annual Compliance Reports for 2025 and later are customized and provided directly to applicants before their due dates. To obtain a copy of any previous Annual Compliance Report, please submit your request to steprogram@treasurer.ca.gov.
